November 2012 As we move forward into negotiations, we must look back and learn from our history... |
November 2011 I would like to provide an update from the Compensation Health and Welfare office. I am currently dealing with several accommodations. The Company and the Union are at an impasse on a couple issues. One issue has been ongoing since April of this year. This office feels that the work being offered is not suitable and is moving ahead on arguing the valid points. |

Xstrata Nickel - P & M Transportation Memo - February 22, 2013
Xstrata Nickel Sudbury Operations Negotiations Committee continues to meet with the United Steelworkers Local 2020, Unit 6855 in an effort to renew the parties' Collective Agreement which expires at midnight on Feb. 28, 2013. Although the Company remains hopeful of achieving a new Collective Agreement, it must ensure that it has in place a protocol for reporting instructions for Production and Maintenance employees in the event of a potential labor disruption. |

There have been many Arbitration hearings this year for the 2009 Nickel Bonus. The first set of dates took place on February 6th and 7th, 2012. The Second set of dates took place on June 20th, 2012. Since then, we were able to secure a third set of dates which took place on October 12th and 17th, 2012. |

To all Fraser Mine Workers - November 22, 2011
The Union had a very vivid discussion with senior management yesterday on this issue and strongly suggested that they pay everyone until they get their plan together. What is the most disturbing is that they are not sure how long that will take – again, leaving our workers in limbo without pay. What they did say is that people will be back to work. |
