Since our last meeting, we had our quarterly meeting on March 19th. It was a good meeting. We discussed how to make our Union stronger.

Newsletter - February 2010

Since our last meeting, there hasn't been too much happening. Xstrata Nickel and Mine Mill Local 598/CAW have reached a tentative agreement, which everybody is glad of. The ratification vote was held on February 2nd, 2010 and the members voted 93% in favour of accepting the new collective agreement.

Once a month Mine Mill 598/CAW Unit Chair persons meet.  I attended the February 2nd meeting and gave a workplace report. It was interesting to hear what issues other members are facing and the assistance and recommendations provided on how to address their concerns.
