July 19, 2005: Recently, First Nickel Inc. signed its first collective agreement with Mine Mill / CAW – Local 598, that will cover the Production and Maintenance workforce in the Sudbury District. With the exception of determining who will be the benefits carrier for this Unit, the contract is complete. First Nickel has purchased the Lockerby Mine, previously owned by Falconbridge, and hopes to recover the remaining reserves and run an exploration program in hopes of extending the mine life.
