Health care workers in this province had their wages frozen at a time when Ontario was experiencing difficult financial years. But now, after years of falling behind inflation, workers must demand to be compensated fairly for their work.
Justice for Canada's Aboriginal Women and Girls
The RCMP has reported close to 1,200 cases of missing or murdered Aboriginal women and girls between 1980 and 2012. That same report highlighted the fact that this number is disproportionately high, showing how Aboriginal women and girls make up over 16% of female homicides, 11% of missing women and yet make up only 4% of the female population in Canada.

At Unifor National Aboriginal/Indigenous & Workers of Colour/ Racialized Workers Conference held on June 20-22, 2014 as per our constitution, delegates adopted a new name to cover our members who self-identify as Aboriginal, First Nations, Inuit, Métis, Racialized and/ or Workers of Colour. Unifor applied to be the union representing workers at Toyota's three Canadian assembly plants – in Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario. The campaign was started more than a year ago by Toyota workers who want to make improvements in their workplace and it has really taken off since then.

2014 Unifor National Union and Regional Council Scholarships
Unifor is committed to building the strongest and most effective union to bargain on behalf of our members, work with our members to improve their rights, and extend the benefits of the union to non-unionized works in Canada. We recognize that post-secondary education is out of reach for many working class children due to skyrocketing tuition fees. Scholarships have been established to make education more accessible. Apply no later than April 30th, 2014.

For the past year and half, our National Office—Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) and the Communica-tions Energy & Paperworkers (CEP) Unions have worked vigorously together in creating ONE new union. Sudbury Mine, Mill & Smelter Worker's Union, Local 598 became part of CAW in 1993 and carried “CAW” within our name and logo since then. With this new union, our name and logo will be trans-formed once again.

Union Rally - January 21, 2012
On Saturday Jan 21st, there will be a massive days of action rally in London, to support our CAW sisters and brothers at Electro-motive. This is an important rally, because the owner, Caterpillar, a highly profitable company is demanding concessions, such as 50% wage cuts, along with cuts to pensions and benefits.
