Subject:           Results of Xstrata Nickel Strike Mandate Vote – January 16^th, 2007

The Election Committee administered the strike mandate vote in two sessions:

Afternoon results:  225 – yes;                8 – no

Evening Results:    153 – yes;                0 – no

Results:  97.92746 (98%)

Due to the road closure of Hwy 144, many members could not vote.  We commend all those who made an extra effort by going many miles around to reach the Union Hall in time to vote.

The Election Committee congratulates the Union Bargaining Committee on the overwhelming support given them by the membership.
